Shannon Singleterry brings more than 25 years of fundraising and advancement experience to her role as Principal Consultant with The Bedrock Group. She started her career in grassroots community organizing and discovered early the transformative power of philanthropy and the unique opportunities it provided to connect passionate individuals with causes that change lives. She is guided by a simple philosophy: when capacity meets opportunity, it becomes responsibility.

At the heart of Shannon’s work is a passion for building meaningful, lasting relationships. She considers it both a privilege and a responsibility to serve as a bridge between organizations and the donors whose generosity advances their missions. Equally important to her is fostering collaboration, strengthening organizational culture, and building high-performing teams that are united around a common purpose.
Shannon’s experience spans both the nonprofit and higher education sectors, giving her a unique perspective on fundraising strategy, donor engagement, campaign planning, board development, and leadership giving. This breadth of experience enables her to bring proven best practices and tailored solutions to organizations of all sizes.
Most recently, Shannon served as Executive Director of Regional Advancement at Emory University, where she led a national team of 13 development professionals. During her three-year tenure, she led a team that raised over $36M and she personally secured the bulk of seven figure gifts in the effort.
Before joining Emory, Shannon spent a decade at Colgate University, five years at University of Houston, and five years with Families First in Atlanta cumulatively raising over $60M in her individual roles. Additional fundraising and advancement roles at The Rise School of Austin, Wake Forest University, and The University of Texas at Austin further broadened her perspective and deepened her expertise in relationship-based philanthropy.
Today, Shannon partners with nonprofit organizations to strengthen fundraising programs, spearhead campaign planning, strategy, and leadership, elevate major and leadership giving efforts, engage boards and volunteers more effectively, and develop strategies that drive sustainable growth and long-term impact.
Educational Accomplishments
Shannon graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in English and Women’s Studies. She has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Texas Austin specializing in Nonprofit Administration. She lives in Atlanta with her husband, Dana, their two active sons, and their beloved dogs, Lucy and Nellie.
